Jim Flahaven lived in the vast interior of America before moving to Maine permanently six years ago. As a catalyst, the light, the ocean, and the strong presence of the four seasons proved unmatchable. While trained as a conceptual artist, he found himself irresistibly drawn to the natural world for his subject matter. Here is a portrait of Maine viewed with the fresh eye of an outsider, and the intimate knowledge of a resident.
